Heavy traffic expected as JIL celebrates anniversary in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Motorists were advised on Friday to expect heavy traffic along Roxas Boulevard ahead of the Jesus Is Lord movement’s 36th anniversary celebration at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park, Manila.

According to the Manila Police District traffic enforcement unit’s advisory, the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard will be closed from Katigbak drive to T.M. Kalaw street.

Roxas Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

President Benigno Aquino III is set to grace the event, which is expected to draw about one million devotees.

“All vehicles coming from Pier Zone/North of Manila intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Blvd. shall turn left to P. Bur5gos, right to Ma. Orosa, right T.M. Kalaw, left Roxas Boulevard to point of destination,” the advisory read.

“All vehicles coming from three bridges (Jones, McArthur, Quezon) intending to utilize the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall go straight to Taft Avenue to point of destination,” it added.
